About us

We met at our hostel’s breakfast table on New Year’s Eve, 2005. Both of us were traveling through the Patagonia region of Argentina and Chile with good friends, backpacking and exploring this gorgeous part of the world. Five years later, almost to the day, we were married in Seattle, surrounded by family and friends. We both enjoy hiking, backpacking, climbing, and biking, and are excited to begin long-distance bicycle touring.

About  Angela

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest I loved exploring our region’s forests, mountains, and lakes – skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, hiking and backpacking through the rest of the seasons. Following my undergraduate degrees, I worked for seven years doing community organizing on environmental and health issues, mostly in the Northwest. I’ve called the Southwest home for the last five years, enjoying biking and rock climbing under perpetually sunny skies while I work towards my doctorate.

About Shachaf

Although I grew up in the center of Tel Aviv, my parents say that from the time I began to walk I would wander around rocks looking for little creatures. I began hiking as a child, later becoming an avid backpacker and rock climber. I have volunteered as an outdoor environmental youth guide, working often with less privileged communities. As a photographer, I have documented many different parts of the world, from the Israeli desert to the rain forests of Costa Rica, mountains of Patagonia, savannah of South Africa, and mountains of the Southwest U.S.
